FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Everything parents usually want to know before their child’s first session. If yours isn’t here, just ask us.

What ages do you coach?

From 6 years old right through to 18, across every level, from UTS Cubs beginners to our High Performance Academy.

How much does coaching cost?

It depends on the programme, Group Coaching starts from R400/month, and One-on-One Coaching is R525/hour. Send us a message and we'll help find the right fit and price for your child's age and level.

Where do you coach?

Our home venues are Greenpoint Cricket Club and Jan van Riebeeck, both based in the Green Point / Atlantic Seaboard area. Some programmes run at other venues around the Seaboard too.

How do I sign my child up?

Message us on WhatsApp or fill in the contact form, and we'll talk you through the right programme for their age and experience.

What's your cancellation policy?

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel a session. Pre-paid sessions cancelled inside that window are still charged, as coaches are booked and paid in advance.

Does my child need experience to join?

Not at all. Our UTS Cubs programme is built for complete beginners, with soft equipment and a gentle introduction to the game. Every level has a place at UTS.

What's the difference between Group Coaching and One-on-One?

Group Coaching is sociable, high-energy sessions with other players their age. One-on-One is fully focused individual coaching, built entirely around your child's game.

How do I find out about holiday clinics?

We run a clinic every school holiday. Message us or follow @utscricketacademy on Instagram to hear about upcoming dates first.

What's your approach to player safety?

Every UTS coach is known to us personally and coaches with your child's wellbeing as the first priority, on and off the field. Sessions are run in safe, well-maintained venues, with age-appropriate equipment and group sizes that mean every player gets proper attention. If you have any specific concerns, we're always happy to talk them through directly.

What if my child wants to try before committing?

A holiday clinic is the easiest low-commitment way to try us out. Get in touch and we'll suggest the best starting point.
