About us
Every player who joins us, from their first UTS Cubs session to a provincial trial, becomes part of the family. Not just a name on a register.

That means we pay attention to more than skills development: how they're doing at school, what's going on at home, whether they're having a good week or a hard one. A player who feels seen off the field plays better on it.

Head Coach
Patrick has spent 16 years coaching at grassroots, school and provincial level. He's Head Coach of Greenpoint Cricket Club Juniors, a role he's held for six years, and coordinates the entire cricket coaching programme at Jan van Riebeeck.
His track record speaks for itself: Sam Alexander, coached since age 10, has gone on to play 100 games for Bishops 1st XI. Marcus Conradie, coached since age 9, is on the verge of his first provincial team and currently plays for Paul Roos 1st XI. James Wapenaar, coached since age 9, has been Rondebosch's leading run-scorer for the past three years, finishing top three, and often number one, in every tournament he's played. Beyond these three, numerous Atlantic Seaboard players Patrick has coached have made A teams in their very first year of high school.
Before coaching, Patrick played WP U19 and U17, was part of the WP Academy, and opened the batting for Green Point Cricket Club's 1st team in the WPCA Premier League.

Marketing, BD & Management
Adam represented Western Province at every age-group level from Under-11 through Under-19, before earning a contract with the Durham County Cricket Academy after school. His playing career since has taken in club cricket across South Africa and England, including a title-winning stint captaining Green Point Cricket Club, plus spells at Hampshire, Aldridge and Finchley, where he first took on a coaching role.
Alongside a decade in marketing, business development and sales, Adam has built extensive experience coaching, playing for and managing amateur cricket organisations. That background shapes a coaching philosophy that looks beyond technique alone, building mental resilience and physical conditioning alongside skills on the field.

How we do it
"Whole player" isn't a slogan for us. It's how we run sessions. A coach who notices a player has gone quiet will ask how their week's been before asking about their grip. We track more than runs and wickets. We notice who needs encouragement, who needs a challenge, and who just needs someone to show up for them, week after week. That's the standard every UTS coach works to, whether it's a UTS Cubs session or High Performance.
